Artist's Statement

The theme of impermanence has had great meaning to my life and my art view, perhaps because I have experienced good friends and a stepdaughter’s death… I am not sure. I do find solace in embracing life in its constant changing form. In my art view I am drawn to express the close up beauty that exists in the detail. Whether a flower, or a cluster of sunlit leaves, these views of nature are important to me. I am constantly reminded that life is brief and the time to appreciate it Is today.

I paint in an impressionistic/expressive style trying to capture the space between ….not realistic detail, more form, texture, color and movement and dance — my interpretation of what I see  — two worlds touching

Why is Art Important to me?

I have lived my entire professional life in my brain and in a world of words --Art for me begins where words end.
